I love brunch! It’s one of my favorite things to do on a Sunday. I think it’s such a fun way to catch up with friends, and it’s the perfect way to start a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Did I mention, that it’s also an awesome way to treat yourself without busting your budget? Brunch, generally speaking, is a fraction of the cost of lunch and dinner at most restaurants which make it a budget-friendly way to experience new restaurants without putting too much pressure on your finances.

Here are 3 of my favorite places for brunch. If you’re in Chicago this weekend, grab a friend, your wallet, and a camera (these restaurants are all Instagram-worthy) and treat yourself.

Wheat’s End Café

The first time I walked by Wheat’s End, I was completely smitten. Although, it’s a small neighborhood café, its large windows, and bright colors make it comfy and inviting. They specialize in gluten-free dishes, but everyone will find something yummy on their menu.

Wheat’s End Café
Brunch Saturday – Sunday | 10 AM – 3 PM
Location 2873 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL 60657
Price Range $8-$13

Freestyle Food + Drink

I’ve been to a couple of events at the Dana Hotel & Spa and each time I can’t get over how chic and modern its design is. Their restaurant, freestyle food + drink, is no exception. It’s a tall narrow space with large windows and a dark and elegant color palette. The brunch menu sticks to very traditional items such as eggs, pancakes, and French toast, but the overall ambiance of the restaurant makes up for the simplicity.

Freestyle food + drink
Brunch Saturday – Sunday | 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Location 660 North State Street, Chicago, IL 60654
Price Range $9-$15

The Allis

If I was smitten the first time I saw Wheat’s End, it’s fair to say that it was love at first sight when I walked into The Allis. Nestled in the ultra-chic SoHo House Chicago, this open and airy space is covered with floor-to-ceiling windows, lush décor, and is staffed by some of Chicago’s chicest servers. It’s no wonder why this place is a favorite for local bloggers. The brunch items are very simple, but skillfully prepared and beautifully plated. If you’re looking for a chic brunch spot with an assortment of “comfort food”, check them out.

The Allis

Location 113-125 North Green Street, Chicago, IL 60607

I know that the idea of brunch isn’t for everyone, but if you’re up for it one lazy Sunday morning, check out the places above and let me know what you think!
